What is a crank
Mechanical principle linkage mechanism noun. In a connecting rod mechanism, the one that can make a full circle rotation is called a crank.
Crank train The main mechanism of an engine. Its function is to convert the reciprocating motion of the piston into the rotational motion of the crankshaft and to convert the force acting on the piston into the external torque of the crankshaft to drive the wheels of the car. The crank rod mechanism consists of a piston block, a connecting rod block, a crankshaft, a flywheel block and other components.
The reasonable choice of materials and the requirements of the prescribed heat treatment for drop-forged parts are important to increase the strength and service life of shaft components and, at the same time, have a large impact on the processing of shafts. Shaft components are generally made of 45 steel, with different heat treatment specifications (e.g. normalised, tempered, quenched, etc.) to obtain strength, toughness and resistance to wear, depending on the working conditions.
